The Last Supper

Mrs. Mashreghi, who is a prominent university professor, is divorced from her husband. She leads a happy life for a while until one her students who is almost the same age of her daughter falls in love with her; a love which is completely rejected by society.

Mahin Mashreqi, a professor at the faculty of architecture, endures so many difficulties in her marital life for twenty six years, for the sake of her daughter, Setareh. Eventually, after a severe quarrel between Mahin and her husband, Mohsen, in front of the students,  Mohsen becomes satisfied to divorce Mahin. After divorcing Mohsen, Mahin moves to her old father’s house and begins to live a new life with her daughter and her nurse named Afagh. After a long time, Mahin experiences a good sense of calm and satisfication in her life, until Manny, the student of Mahin Mashraqi, comes to their life. Manny has a deep affinity for Mahin despite the fact that she’s too old for him and Setareh is keenly interested in Manny and dreams of going to Italy with Manny to pursue her studies. Manny informs his family about this love and his family get prepared for his marriage. Shortly afterwards, Manny and Mahin, along with Setareh and Manny’s sister, travel to Naien for a research trip, and as a result of her mother’s mistake, Setareh gets aware of her mother’s and Manny’s marriage. At first, she does not believe it; but she then goes to her father angrily. Mohsen informs the university’s Disciplinary Committee about her ex-wife’s relationships with students and they decide to expell Mahin and Manny. In this situation, Mahin has no choice but to accept to marry his student and begin a life with him. They travel to the north for honeymoon. Setareh, who is shocked, goes to visit his mother and Manny, and as she is not in a good state, shoots them dead. At the end, Afagh who narrates the tragic story of this love, goes to see Setareh in jail.

مهین مشرقی، استاد دانشکده معماری، بیست و شش سال به خاطر دخترش ستاره با همسرش محسن که اختلاف فکری و رفتاری زیادی با او داشت، زندگی ملال آوری را تحمل کرد و سرانجام با وساطت ستاره، بعد از یک درگیری سخت بین مهین و محسن در حضور دانشجویان، محسن رضایت میدهد که از مهین جدا شود.مهین، پس از طلاق از محسن، به خانه قدیمی پدرش نقل مکان می کند و با دخترش ستاره و دایه اش آفاق زندگی تازه ای را آغاز میکند. مهین پس از مدت ها، احساس خوب آرامش و رضایت را در زندگی تجربه می کند، تا اینکه مانی معترف، دانشجوی مهین مشرقی، پایش به زندگی آنها باز می شود. مانی، به رغم اختلاف سنی زیاد با مهین، اما تعلق خاطر عمیقی به او دارد، این در حالی است که ستاره به شدت به او علاقه مند است و در برنامه های طراحی شده آینده اش، خود و مانی را به عنوان همسرش در ایتالیا برای ادامه تحصیل می بیند.مانی، ازدواج خود با مهین را پیگیری و موضوع را با پدر و خواهرش نیز در میان میگذارد و آنها نیز از او خواستگاری میکنند. کمی بعد، مانی و مهین، همراه با ستاره و خواهر مانی برای سفری تحقیقاتی به نایین میروند و ستاره براثر اشتباه مادرش به موضوع ازدواج مادرش و مانی آگاه می شود، او که این ماجرا را باور ندارد، پریشان و خشمگین نزد پدر بازمیگردد. محسن، پدر ستاره، موضوع رابطه آزاد همسر سابقش با دانشجویان و ارتباط با مانی را به کمیته انضباطی دانشگاه می کشاند و کمیته انضباطی رای به اخراج مهین و مانی میدهد. مهین در این شرایط چاره ای جز پذیرفتن پیشنهاد ازدواج با شاگردش را ندارد و زندگی مشترکی را با او آغاز می کند. آن دو برای ماه عسل به شمال سفر میکنند. ستاره که شوکه شده است، در وضعیت روحی آشفته، به دیدار مادرش و مانی رفته و آن دو را با شلیک گلوله می کشد.آفاق، دایه ی مهین مشرقی که قصه ی غم انگیز این عشق را روایت می کند، در بازداشتگاه به دیدار ستاره میرود…
