‘Seven Acts’ gets its name from its somewhat episodic nature – the storyline is broken into segments, each representing a different emotion. The film focuses on four young men who face financial difficulties. When they feel they have no choice but to rob a grocery store to make ends meet, they must resign themselves to life on the run. The film’s fragmented approach forms a mosaic in which we come to learn more about each of the troubled thieves.

Four young people struggling with so many problems, especially the financial ones, become friends. The driver is a nervous person who is constantly having trouble with his wife. He has owed someone a large amount of money, and as he didn’t pay his debts on time, the man intends to take his car which is his only asset. The young man whose work does not pay off his problems, has also a sick brother who’s about to die, and a beloved woman who is away from him because of financial problems. The young student who is an English teacher, loves a young girl and wants to marry her but he cannot afford it. The philosophy student, on the other hand, finds nothing interesting in his life, but is going to be the forth side of an important event: While discussing about their lives, these four young people decide to commit an armed robbery. Inspiring from a book of the English writer James Hadley Chase, the philosophy student makes a plot; and finally after providing the necessary means, they go to do it. But the young student’s fiancee surrenders them to the police. So the story ends with the annihilation of these four people.

چهار جوان که در عرصه زندگی و در مقابله با مشکلات، خصوصاً مسائل مالی، به جایی نرسیده اند، به هم نزدیک می شوند.

-جوان راننده، آدم عصبی است که به طور مستمر با همسرش مشکل دارد، او برای گذران زندگی بدهکار مرد نزول خواری شده است که چون سر موعد طلبش پرداخت نشده، در مقابل میخواهد ماشین او را بگیرد و این ماشین همه سرمایه اوست .

-جوان کارمند، که حقوقش کفاف مشکلاتش را نمی کند، برادرش بیمار و در حال مرگ است و زنی که دوست دارد، به جهت مضیقه مالی، از او دور مانده است.

-جوان دانشجو و آموزگار زبان انگلیسی، شیفته دختر جوانی است و با او پیمان ازدواج بسته است، اما تنگنای مالی فرصت ایجاد خانواده را به او نمی دهد.

-جوان دانشجوی فلسفه، که در مواجهه با پیرامونش به آخر خط رسیده است، هیچ چیز برایش جالب نیست و اهمیتی ندارد. اما قرار است ضلع چهارم واقعه ای مهم باشد.

 این چهار جوان، در گفت وگو با هم و مرور دقایق زندگی شان، تصمیم به یک سرقت مسلحانه می گیرند. نقشه سرقت را دانشجوی فلسفه، با استفاده از کتاب جیمز هدلی چیس، طراحی و بعد از فراهم آوردن وسایل لازم به سمت اجرای آن می روند.نامزد جوان دانشجو که آموزگار زبان انگلیسی است آنها را لو می دهد. پایان کار چهار جوان نیستی است
