14-year-old Kaim drifts to the Delbaran crossing on the Afghan-Iran border, where he finds work at a coffee shop frequented by truck drivers. He feels at home in this small oasis of friendliness, though the sounds of war can be heard in the background, violent bandits prowl the roads, and opium is everywhere. As we watch Kaim run from one task to another day after day, we soon realize that we are watching a boy who is being cheated out of his childhood.An Afghan teenager crosses the border into Iran to look for a job and make money for his family. He starts working in a coffee shop on the border road. Everything goes fine until the government switches to another road and makes it the main passage to the border. In a short period of time, their business falls down. The owner has gone to his village to get nails. On his way back, he, who is so saddened by his shop’s status, gets depressed and soon dies. The Afghan teenager, who is now left alone and unemployed, leaves the nails on the new road …

افغانی نوجوان، در جست و جوی شغل و کسب درآمد برای خانواده فقیرش، از مرز افغانستان گذشته و در یک قهوه خانه ی مرز ایران مشغول کار می شود، همه چیز مرتب است و کار قهوه خانه هم رونق دارد تا اینکه، دولت جاده ای را که از کنار قهوه خانه میگذرد مسدود کرده و جاده تازه ای را برای عبور وسایط نقلیه به مرز دائر می کند…

به این ترتیب، در فاصله کوتاهی کار و بار قهوه خانه کساد می شود، قهوه چی که برای تهیه میخ به روستایش رفته، در بازگشت، از پایان کار قهوه خانه اش، به شدت متاثر و افسرده شده و به زودی از شدت ناراحتی می میرد.

نوجوان افغانی، که تنها و بدون کار و در آمد شده میخ های بر جامانده قهوه چی را در جاده جدید می پاشد
