In order to make his new film, a director is looking for a new actress; thereby, he visits some acting training institutes. During his pursuit, the director meets a girl, named Mandana. He finds her appropriate for performing the vacant role. Moreover, Mandana passes the audition with success. Then, to sign a contract, the director asks for an agreement letter, signed by Mandana’s father. Despite what Mandana expects, her father, being an open-minded author who appreciates the art as well, does not like her daughter to become an actress. Her father assumes that the acting career will bring dishonor on the family. Regarding the reasons for Mandana’s father’s disapproval, the director believes that her father is insulting to himself and to the actors and actresses as well. Therefore, he is determined to enlighten Mandana’s father and to convince him to consent in whatever way possible.

کارگردان برای ساختن فیلم خود مترصد کشف چهره ای جدید است و برای همین منظور به مراکز آموزش بازیگری مراجعه می کند. او در این جستجو با دختری به نام “ماندانا” برخورد می کند و او را برای ایفای نقش مورد نظر مناسب تشخیص میدهد. “ماندانا” در آزمایش موفق می شود. کارگردان از او میخواهد تا موافقت کتبی پدرش را برای انعقاد قرارداد ارائه دهد. پدر که نویسندهای روشنفکر و هنردوست است، برخلاف انتظار و ماندانا، با بازیگری دخترش موافقت نمی کند و این کار را در شأن خانوادهٔ خود نمیداند. کارگردان چون دليل مخالفت پدر را نوعی توهین به خود و هنرمندان سینما میداند، مصمم میشود تا به هر طریق موافقت پدر ماندانا را جلب کند.
